HPS Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Care Services Friends and Customers,

As new information about Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to develop, we wanted to take an opportunity to communicate our Business Continuity Plan as it pertains to this situation.

We are closely monitoring local, state and federal government guidance regarding workplace safety and we are following the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidance for businesses and employers for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for preparation and response.

While we have not experienced any interruptions to our business, if at some point in the future it is necessary for our employees to work from home, we are confident that our Business Continuity Plan will enable us to continue to provide 24×7 service and a consistent level of support and service availability. As a precaution, HPS is increasing our Help Desk staff in the near term in anticipation of increased outreach due to COVID-19 impacts.

As part of our response, we are leveraging technology to conduct internal and external meetings as much as possible. As it pertains to pharmacy network availability, we are closely monitoring our network for any retail pharmacy disruption – either closures or shortages – and will be here to help identify alternate locations including mail-order options, if needed, to meet your needs. These are unprecedented times and we are doing everything we can to proactively address your business needs.

Additionally, as another step to ensure patient care continuation, HPS is available to consult with your clinical teams on temporarily increasing day’s supply and/or refill too soon limits for prescriptions where appropriate. Please reach out to your Account Manager if you would like to make some immediate changes.

Like us, I am sure that you are also reviewing your Business Continuity Plan. Now is a good time to make sure that your team knows how to utilize your Hospice PBM partner. If you or your team needs any training or support, please let us know. Please also let us know if you are aware of any areas that have specific issues so we may provide support. Our team is available to support your operations and help ensure you’re able to meet your patients’ needs if the unexpected happens.
