Parkinson’s Disease affects nearly 1 million Americans, and many of those patients turn to hospice care in the advanced stages of the disease. During this webinar, we will review some of the most common symptoms in advanced Parkinson’s Disease and discuss some of the cost-effective medications to help manage these symptoms. We will examine disease specific factors to consider in medication selection for Parkinson’s Disease patients. We will also specifically highlight Parkinson’s Disease Psychosis and the current medications available for treatment.

About the Speaker

Elizabeth Ragsdale, PharmD is a clinical pharmacist partner at Hospice Pharmacy Solutions, LLC. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island and is a board-certified geriatric pharmacist.  Dr. Ragsdale has prior experience as a consultant pharmacist, working closely with multidisciplinary teams in the long-term care setting to improve patient outcomes through medication regimen reviews and consults. She also has experience as a clinical utilization pharmacist at Humana. In her current position, Dr. Ragsdale enjoys merging her expertise in geriatric pharmacy with utilization and formulary management guidance to benefit both the clients we serve in hospice as well as their patients.
